There is fear in understanding ourselves.
The one constant person in our life, the one we usually know the least about.
When we decide to sit and understand, we stand up naked.
I’m in a phase of self-awakening. That means; reflection, vulnerability, rawness, and every other word you thought of when you read that short, but powerful sentence.
Tears, laughter, all of it!
Who am I, and how do I continue to wake her?
First, by understanding how I work.
I came to the realization that I am an empath. A term that I’ve heard a few times in my life, but never truly understood the meaning of. I brought this up to some of my closest friends and they were shocked that I already didn’t know. That made me smile.
As a person, I feel emotions
As a poet I live through them
As a person who is a poet, being an empath feels like it all makes sense.
When I came to the realization I felt peace, but also sadness.
I started to look at it as a disadvantage, as a weakness.
“Does that mean that I will always feel more than others?”
This week I plan on breaking down what being an Empath means to me. If you’re also an Empath, don’t hesitate to reach out below and tell me how you realized you were one.
All Empath’s welcomed!
