Different Phases come with different faces,
and this one came with a portrait of you.
It arrived delicately wrapped in the softest silk
delivered to me by the light of the Moon on a starry night
ready to be unwrapped and hung on the walls of my heart.

Since I was a boy, I’ve always liked the adjectives describing the “waxing” (increasing) and “waning” (decreasing) illumination phases of the Moon. There’s little question of application to new or lost love, or to the opening and closing of those shades, screens, and blinds. β€οΈπ
