The Meadow

Tonight, she danced with the rain

the summers wind

and the flowers.

Once upon a time as the rain fell against her window

So did her resolve

So  did her walls.

With the pitter patter of the rain

outpoured her emotions

outpoured her tears

grief and pain.

It would start off as a drizzle

and gradually develop into a downpour.

Tonight, she sits by a meadow

she smiles as the drizzle picks up

as the grass and flowers brush against her skin

as the summers warm wind molds against her body.

With the rain once came pain

like a storm it represented the thrashing of her inner self

the breaking of herself.

Now, she welcomes the rain with open arms and gratefulness.

She finds peace in the rain

and in herself.
